[ARCHIVED] Storm Debris

Private citizens cleaning their own yards can transport vegetative storm debris and drop it on the county right of way. Please do not place debris any closer than 4 feet from the shoulder of the roadway.

If you choose to pay a contractor to clean your yard, the contractor must take debris to the local landfill. Private contractors found placing debris on the right of way will be prosecuted.

No contractors will be allowed to dump any type of debris in collection centers.

Building debris may not be included with vegetative debris. If it is, it will not be handled by the county.

All non-vegetative debris must be taken to the local landfill or a collection center site.

Please remember recovering from this will be a lengthy process as we prioritize essential needs, such as utility restoration. You may see storm debris along the roads for the coming weeks.
